Funeral for Mrs. H. J. HARDIE was to be held this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the First Presbyterian church with the pastor, Dr. T. S. KNOX, officiating. Mrs. HARDIE, resident of Abilene since 1892, died shortly before noon Friday.
A son, J. T. HARDIE of Weatherford, narrowly escaped death in Eastland yesterday as he was hurrying to his mother's bedside. With his brother the Rev. James F. HARDIE of Fort Worth, he was enroute to Abilene. He was struck by a truck as he walked from between parked cars, receiving a fractured ankle and injuries to his wrist.
Other survivors are Morgan and Robert HARDIE of Abilene and Mrs. Lockert SLEEPER of Waco, four grandchildren. Laughter Funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
