Doug Tipton, age 57, of NC Hwy 197 Green Mountain, NC, died Monday at his home.
He was a Precision Millwright, and a member of Tipton Hill Methodist Church.
Survivors include: wife, Mildred Twiggs Tipton, of the home, mother, Jessie Lee Tipton, of Tipton Hill, NC, daughters, Candy Grindstaff, and Sherri Miller, both of Bakersville, NC, and Marquita Gurley, of Hamstead, NC, sons, Samuel Ray Hollifield, of Bakersville, NC, Bill Tipton, of Tipton Hill, NC, and Johnny Hollifield, of Spruce Pine, NC, twelve grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by: father, Claude Tipton.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, December 21 at 8:00 P. M. in the chapel of Henline - Hughes Funeral Home with Reverend David Lee, and Reverend Darrell Tipton officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service.
Interment will be Wednesday, December 22 at 11:00 at Tipton Hill Cemetery.
