Antonia " Toni" F Barbosa, 73, St Joseph, died Saturday, Aug. 11 2007, at a local hospital.
Mrs. Barbosa was born June 12, 1934, in Kansas City, Kan. She was a 1952 graduate of Rosedale High School, Kansas City.
She married Faustino Barbosa Sept. 28, 1957, who survives of the home. She received her Bachelor's of Education degree from Missouri Western State University and her Masters in Education from Northwest Missouri State University.
She was an elementary teacher for the St. Joseph School District.
Mrs. Barbosa was preceded in death by her parens, Albert and Catalina (Diaz) Fernandez.
She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, where she was active in the Altar Society.She was also a member of the Missouri State Teachers Association.
Survivors: her son, Damacio "Donald" Barbosa and his wife Pauline of Austin, Texas: her daughter, Elizabeth Valentine and her husband Scott of St. Joseph: her brother Raymond Fernandez of Liberty, Mo.: her sister, Mary Fernandez of Kansas City: eight grandchildren, Melanie, Sara, Nicholas (and wife Bella), Amber, Zachary, Noah, Jaselyn, and Olivia: eight great great grandchildren, Luke, Jaxon, Jimena, Damian, Dominic, Gage, Jesse, and Kymberlee: as well as numerous in laws, nieces, and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial; 10 a.m. Tuesday, St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Interment Mount Olivet Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Parish Rosary 6;30 p.m., Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory,where friends may call after 3 p.m. Monday.
The family suggest memorial gifts to St. Patrick's Catholic Church.
