FUNERAL OF S. C. SCOTT
Samuel Clark Scott was born June 27, 1843, in Washington county, Pa., and died April 15, 1925 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. John Wayman, at the age of 81 years, 9 months and 17 days.
He was married to Esther Wilson in Washington county, Pa. To this union two children were born, Elvera Scott and Josiah Ernest; all of whom have preceded him years ago. In 1870 he moved to Kansas and in 1874 he was married to Mary L. Apgar, of Springfield, Illinois. He is survived by his aged wife, three children, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The children are: Mrs. John Wayman, Mr. Clark Scott and Mrs. Henry Messenheimer, one sister, Mrs. Ella Law, of Urichsville, O.; Mr. Vance Scott, of Hopedale, O.; and Dr. J. E. Scott, of Altoona, Penn.
He also leaves other relatives and a host of friends to mourn his loss.
He served three years in the Civil War and was a member of the G.A.R. post at Admire.
Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at the M.E. church in Admire and were conducted by Rev. Hughes, of Americus. Interment was made in the Admire cemetery. A quartet composed of Ruth Wolfe, Ethel McDaniel, Raymond McDaniel and Glen Lyon sang with Mrs. Rehrig as pianist. The pallbearers were Mr. Lon Rockfeller, John Paine, Henry Wolfe, Charles Coen, Edgar Miller and Robert Ogleby.
