Roann-MARY ELLEN THOMPSON passed away at 5:50am this morning at her home in Roann after an illness from erysipelas. She was 69 years of age. Mrs. Thompson was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob "Jake" Bobblet and was born near Roann sept 22, 1854. She had spent her entire life in Wabash County. Her marriage to James E. Thompson took place May 25, 1877, to this union were born eleven children, two of whom died in infancy. The following survive: Mrs. Minnie Marlnee, Indianapolis, Mrs. Gip (Ocie) Harrell, Wabash; Mrs. John (EMMa) Price, Laketon; Mrs. Bertha (Ollie) Butterbaugh, Disco, Mrs. Viola (Oren ) Scott, Marshall Thompson, Lorin Thompson, and Raymond, all of Wabash; and Mrs. Francis (Galen) Crook, Hoover,IN. Raymond later lived in Richvalley and Francis lived in Lacrosse. There are 17 grandchildren. Surviving also are the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. John Dripe, Pittsburg; Mrs. Sam Lavengood, Mr. Levi Lavengood, and Mrs. Ber Gray, all fo Roann; Mrs. Robert Ross, Andrews; Mrs Lindia Crume and Dave Boblett, Roann. Mrs. Thompson united with the Church of the Brethren in her early life and has been a faithful member ever since. Funeral services will be held at the Roann Church of the Brethren at 2 o'clock Monday Afternoon, Rev. George E. Swihart officiating. Burial will be made in the IOOF cemetery, north of Roann. She attended the Church of the Brethren in Roann and her funeral was the first one held in the new church.
