He was born Oct. 17, 1942, in Cincinnati, Ohio, the son of Herman Joseph and Grace Litisha Hobbs Wagner Pahls. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a maintenance mechanic at Riverwood International in Sharonville, Ohio. He was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church in Cincinnati, Ohio.
He is survived by two daughters, Susan Pahls of North Vernon and Jennifer Pahls of Greensburg; six sons, Joseph Pahls of Madison; Michael Pahls of Beverly, Mass., John Pahls of Seymour, and Kenneth Pahls, David Pahls and Thomas Pahls, all of North Vernon; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Richard and Robert Pahls.
The funeral was at Vail-Holt Funeral Homes Downtown Chapel. Burial was in the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Full military honors were conducted graveside by Jefferson Post 9 of the American Legion.
