In 1860, Abraham met his wife Yetta Solomon and a year later their first child Adaline, a daughter was born. In Feb 1862, Abraham and Newman bought a brick store in the corner of California and Oregon street, this corner is today known as the oldest business site in Jacksonville and the building standing there at the present time is still named the Fisher brothers store. Abraham went then in business with different partners and continued to be successful as a general retail merchant.
During the 25 years of his residence in Oregon, five more children were born of Abraham and Yetta ‘s union, Baruch in 1863, Abraham in 1866, Joseph in 1871, Julia in 1876 and Bertha in 1877. Unfortunately Abraham and Joseph died in their prime childhood and are buried in the Jewish cemetery in Jacksonville.
In 1880, Abraham decided to move to San Francisco and entered in business with Morris Baum there. Soon after his two older children Adaline and Baruch move to Tulare with their respective spouse when the two youngest girls started to learn to play piano and singing. In 1897, tragically his wife Yetta died at 48 years old, soon after Abraham retired and was living with his youngest daughter Bertha who was teaching elocution and voice culture at that time. In 1902 Bertha got married to Max Schiller and Abraham lived with them until his death in 1907. This probably explains why all the old family pictures, one ambrotype and several tintypes were passed to Bertha and then to her descendant.
