In my day, in Allentown, if you wanted an excellent photographic portrait or senior picture for the yearbook, this is the man with whom you booked your appointment. His work was distinctive for its weathered sepia tones, fade-in coloring, and flattering lighting. You could always tell when a portrait was Metzger's work.

I remember my visit to him for my own yearbook, and he made me look my best. One of his techniques was to have you look at the floor, then suddenly call your name (politely) as "Miss Jones!" or whatever... and in catching you looking up in surprise he often caught the nicest, most open look you had.

Mr. Metzger was very polite and energetic, and you would be made to feel quite comfortable, knowing you were in a true professional's hands.
