Elizabeth was born near Lacona, Iowa to DONALD and ZEETE (Harvey)Thompson. She attended school in Milo and Liberty Center.

She met her future husband, PAUL ALLEN, at the Jay Roller Skating Rink in Warren County. They were married 1934 at her parents'home. Three children were born to this union:

The couple farmed in Lucas County until Paul's untimely death in 1963.

In 1965, Elizabeth married ORVAL SNUGGS.

They farmed north of Chariton until they retired and moved to Chariton.

Orval and Elizabeth enjoyed traveling and visiting with friends.

Orval passed away in 2001.

Elizabeth was known to be a great cook, and always had something prepared for family and friends. She was a very giving person and always had a great sense of humor.

Elizabeth enjoyed playing cards, bingo, crafts and crocheting afghans, and her greatest joy has been her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Elizabeth passed away February 22, 2009.

She was preceded in death by her husbands: PAUL E. ALLEN and ORVAL SNUGGS; a son ROGER ALLEN; grandson JOHN ALLEN; and brothers; JACK and FREDERICK THOMPSON.
