Carl Johan Dahlberg was born in Christdala Soken, Kalmer Lan, Sweden, the son of Magnus and Maria Dahlberg.
He married Johanna G. Gustafson 14 Oct. 1845 in Sweden.
He and Johanna and 3 children came to the U.S. in 1854. They settled briefly at Rock Island, Illinois, where daughters Johanna Maria and Emma Sophia died.
C. J. and Johanna and son Carl Victor came to Kansas in 1857. They settled north of Fancy Creek near the Blue River. Their daughter Clara Josephine was the first white child of Swedish descent born in Kansas.
Three adult children died of Typhoid Fever in 1885.
