Funeral services will be held for Carmen A. "Connie" Howell, 65, of Lucedale, on Thursday, April 8, 2004, at 1:00 p.m. from the First United Methodist Church of Lucedale following visitation on Wednesday, April 7, 2004, from the George County Funeral Home.
interment will follow in the Rocky Creek Cemetery with Rev. Bill Poole officiating the services. Pallbearers will be Brett Anderson, Rodney Flurry, Rudolph Hall, Claude Jackson, Kyle McCaskey and Doug Williams. Honorary pallbearers will be Dan Batson, Eddie Courtney, Mike Courtney, David Crump, Paul Gardner, Timmy Havard, Darryl Hurt, Frankie Massey and Steve Tipton. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Lee C. Howell Scholarship Fund, S.N.A., 1827 Powers Ferry Rd., Suite 4-100, Atlanta, GA 30339-8422.
A native of Mobile, Ala., she was the co-owner of the Rocky Creek Nursery. A member of the First United Methodist Church of Lucedale, she died on April 5, 2004.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Owen Howell and a son, Lee C. Howell.
She is survived by a daughter, Ginger Thompson of Lucedale; two sons, Jeff (Melinda) Howell of Lucedale and Greg (Keisha) Howell of Houston, Texas; a daughter-in-law, Pamela Howell of Lucedale; eight grandchildren, Adrian Howell, Anna Howell, Tyler Howell, Jeffry Howell, Shebly Howell, Blake Howell, Brad Thompson and Steve Thompson; two great grandchildren, Walker Thompson and Anna Clare Thompson; a brother, William F. (Wanda) Anderson of Bay Minette, Ala.; two sisters, Gwin (Roland) Williams of Mobile, Ala., and Kay (Ray) McAdams of Ashdown, Ar.; and a special friend, Ralph Cobb of Mobile, Ala.
