Automotive Figure. Born in Indianapolis, Indiana, he was a graduate of the Benjamin Harrison Law School and joined the Northwestern University Law School Traffic Institute as a senior counselor in 1938. he served as the Judge of the Indiana Speedway Municipal Court (1950-58) and was President of the Indianapolis Lawyers Association. In 1955, he founded the United States Auto Club and served as USAC's Midwest Vice President (1955-65). While in position, as chairman of USAC's safety committee, he helped encourage the use of flame-proof uniforms and improved helmet design for Indianapolis 500 auto racing. He died at age 77 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
