SPRINGFIELD - Dewey B. Marion, 73, of Springfield died Saturday, Feb. 14, 2009, at Prairie Village Health Care Center in Jacksonville.
He was born July 1, 1935, in Springfield, the son of Homer and Maude Wright Marion.
Mr. Marion was a local and over-the-road truck driver. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, serving during the Korean War.
He was preceded in death his parents; a sister, Iona Poole; and a brother, Ernest Poole.
Surviving are a daughter, Tracy Smith of Springfield; a granddaughter, Randilynn Smith of Springfield; a sister, Virginia "Ginny" (Carl "Budd") Ramey of Florissant, Mo.; three nieces; and three nephews.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 20, 2009, at Camp Butler National Cemetery, with the Interveterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County conducting military honors.
