Bertha spent her working years as a school teacher, in Fulton County, for 39 years. She was the oldest member of the Salem First Baptist Church in Salem, Arkansas, and a member of the Retired Teachers Association.
Miss Wood leaves to mourn her passing: two sisters: Granville Sherman, Viola, Arkansas; Pearl Smith, Thayer, Missouri; four Sister-in-laws: Inez Wood, Byron, Arkansas; Ruth N. Wood, Sturkie, Arkansas; Jewell Wood, Salem, Arkansas; Jessie Wood, Mammoth Spring, Arkansas: nephews, nieces, other relatives, and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister-Annice Reavis, and five brothers- Oral "Slim", Rufus, Clough, Clyde and Roy.
