Ina Jeanette Hawkinson was born on Feb. 16, 1911 in Oak Park Township, Marshall County, MN, the daughter of Hiram and Hilda (Aas) Hawkinson. She was raised in Oak Park Township where she attended 33 East Country School. On Oct. 2, 1929, she married Arnfin Larson. They lived at various places until settling in the Oslo area in 1941. Arnfin died on June 20, 1963. On Feb. 12, 1972, she married Leslie Haugen and they made their home in Oslo. Leslie died on March 30, 1991.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and WELCA. Jeanette served different offices of WELCA and several years as church financial secretary. She was the last charter member of Oslo Jolly Seniors Club and a Member of Royal Neighbors of America where she served as Camp Recorder of the Oslo Camp. Jeanette furnished accordion music as District Musician for several years of the Royal Neighbors.
Left to mourn her passing is a stepdaughter, Kathryn (Dick) Foster of Bottineau, ND; six step grandchildren, Carneen, Chrisanne, Rebecca, Chad, James and John, eleven step great-grandchildren; two sisters, Florence (Vernon) Quern of Oslo, MN and Doris Hoff of Oslo, MN, many nieces and nephews and godchildren, Melvina (Veralrud) Corbit, June (Morberg) Holmstrom, Barbara (Larson) Heyer, Gayle (Quern) Gjovik, Reed Quern, Russell Olson and Keith Hawkinson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Arnfin and Leslie, five brothers, Elford, Kermit, Maynard, Arlyn and an infant brother, three sisters, Mildred Quern, Verol Olson and Vivian Olson and four godchildren, Susan (Hoff) Hess, Richard Olson, Maynard Hawkinson and Arlyn Hawkinson.
FUNERAL SERVICE: 2:00 PM on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2008 at Zion Lutheran Church in Oslo, MN. VISITATION: After 6:00 PM with a 7:00 PM prayer service on Friday at Zion Lutheran Church in Oslo, MN and one hour before services on INTERMENT: Riverside Cemetery, Oslo, MN.
