Jantzi, Royden Bertrum, son of John B. and Mary (Conrad) Jantzi, was born at Milford, Nebraska on August 17, 1901; he died of a heart attack while on a hunting trip near La Pine, Oregon on October 18, 1967; aged 66 years, 2 months, 1 day. On January 3, 1923, he was married to Anna Gascho, who died January 18, 1935. On February 16, 1936, he was married to Emma Mary Birkey, who survives.
Also surviving are 8 children (Shirley-Mrs. Merrill Boshart, Roland, Robert, Ruth-Mrs. Lloyd Hooley, John, Leo, Caroline-Mrs. Melvin Wolfer, Jr., and Billy), 2 sisters (Nettie-Mrs. Homer Schweitzer and Ethel-Mrs. Clarence Stutzman), 2 brothers (Ezra and Daniel), and 34 grandchildren. One daughter (Betty) preceded him in death. Because of illness he spent the winters in Phoenix, Arizona, where he was a member of the Paradise Valley Church.
