Maurice enlisted in the U.S. Navy on February 11, 1952 during the Korean War. While stationed in Europe, Maurice traveled to many countries including Italy and Greece. He was honorably discharged from service on January 6, 1956.
Maurice married the sweetheart of his soul, Carol Mae, on June 30, 1956 in Madison. They lived in Madison for several years before moving to Mount Horeb. Maurice and Carol had 6 daughters together.
Maurice "Mugs" passed away on March 6, 2001.
