Ruth Eloise Moffet, 83 of Modesto died Friday, February 20, 2009 at St. John's Hospice in Springfield. She was born August 2, 1925 in Greenville, MS, the daughter of Eugene and Nell McCalister Phillips. She married Robert Moffet October 10, 1975 and he survives. She is also survived by a son, Wayne Carter of Madison, TN., a daughter Rita Carter of Bryan, TX, two step-daughters, Monica (husband, Dan) Winnett of Alton and Melodee (husband, Larry) Costanzo of Dorsey; a brother Hester (wife, Mary Jane) Phillips; five grand-children, Lisa, Nick, Chris, Robert and Erick; and five great-grandchildren, Evan, Nnoah, Lillie Bell, Briele and Caleb. Ruth was a member of Modesto Baptist Church.

Services were entrusted to Stults-Neece-Airsman-Hires Funeral Home of Palmyra, Illinois.
