"A FORMER CITIZEN DEAD.
A. A. Higinbotham, Who Lived in Leavenworth Many Years, Passes Away at Denver.
Word has been received of the death at Denver yesterday morning of A. A. Higinbotham, formerly a well known citizen of this place. Mr. Higinbotham came to Leavenworth from Virginia in 1857, and engaged in the real estate business here. His operations were extensive, and he will be remembered by old timers as having built and lived in the house now owned and occupied by Fred Harvey.
Mr. Higinbotham left Leavenworth about fifteen years ago, and went to Leadville, where he had certain mining interests. He subsequently engaged in real estate in Denver, and was so employed up to his death. Mr. Higinbotham was about 70 years of age. A week or ten days ago, while undergoing an operation for hernia, he was stricken with paralysis, and did not regain consciousness till the end came. Mr. Higinbotham was Senator Baker's father-in-law."
