She was born in Iowa December 6, 1846 and came west when she was only four years of age. Her folks settled in Franklin, Idaho. With her husband she came to Star Valley in 1886, when only a few settlers lived in the valley. They lived at Auburn and Afton and later moved to Thayne.
Mrs Nelson was an expert at caring for the sick and spent many years of her life helping the sick and needy.
She was the mother of 15 children 11 of whom have preceded her to the grave. Only four are still living. She was grandmother to 52, great grandmother to 92, and great, great grandmother to 4. Funeral services were held in Thayne yesterday.
The speakers were Bro Hokanson of Thayne, President Clarence Gardner and A,F, Burton of Afton, A.E, Wilde of Kemmerer and Bishop Dana of Thayne.
The White Bros. rendered two very beautiful sons.
She was buried in the Thayne cemetery.
The following descendants of Mrs Nelson came in for the services: Thos H. Wilde, Mrs Clarence Wilde and son, A.I. Wilde, Leonard Wilde, Harvey Wilde and wife, Bertha Christenson, a former resident of Afton. A daughter Nancy and two children from Utah.
Many local friends and relatives attended the services.
