James Bate married Alice Glover 16 Sep 1603 in Saltwood, Kent, England. (On 13 Sep 1603, a license was issued for the marriage of "Jacobum Bate de Lyd, yeoman, and Aliciam Glover de Saltwood virg[in], " to be performed at Saltwood. She was admitted to Dorchester church about 1638, along with her daughters Lydia & Mary. She died at Dorchester on 14 Aug 1657.
they had nine children: Thomazine, William, Richard, Thomazine again, Lydia Williams, Mary Foster, Margaret GIBSON, John, & James.
Said to be daughter of William & Anne (Goverard) Glover of Saltwood, Kent, England.
