“James Kenneth (Nip) Keeling, 87, of Veedersburg, died at 6:30 a.m. October 28, 1999 at Provena Logan Campus Hospital, Danville, Illinois. Born April 15, 1912 in Fountain County, he was the son of John and Dora Lee Payton Keeling. He married Vivian Brewer September 1, 1934 in Veedersburg, who survives.

He was a school bus driver retiring in 1975.

Other survivors include: daughters Bonnie A. Helms, Highland, Illinois, Shay Andrews, El Cajon, California, Jolynn Slazas, Tustin, California, Sonnie Johnston, North Salem; sons, Dean, Kingman, Dick, Hillsboro; brother Bob, Waynetown; sister Waneta Lynch, Staford, Iowa; seventeen grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; and a nephew. He was preceded in death by six brothers; a sister; and son Arthur.

Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Monday at Dickerson Funeral Home, Veedersburg, with Rev. Bob Rixman officiating. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Visitation was 4-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
