She also reported many state conventions for the Associated Press. While employed, she studied law and was admitted to the bar. In 1912 she married W. L. Corris and they lived for the most part at the St. Nicholas hotel in Springfield. For health reasons, the couple moved to Florida in Dec. 1913. She was survived by her husband and mother, Mrs. S. J. Mullen.
