MRS. ROSIE SHERMAN SHOCKEY, 83, of Oak Hill died Monday at 5:30 p.m. in the home of a daughter, Mrs. G. B. Garbett at Oak Hill after an extended illness.
A former Page resident, she was born at Dempsey, Dec. 2, 1875.
Surviving are two sons, Emert of Page and Harry of Boomer; two daughters, Mrs. Roy Anderson of Man and Miss Gertrude Shockey of Oak Hill; three sisters, Mrs. Thelma Feazell, Mrs. Lillie Smith, and Mrs. Carrie Arthur, all of Fayetteville; 17 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p. m. Thursday in the Dogget: Chapel at Dempsey by the Rev. W. F. Hodges of Scarbro.
Burial will be in the Dempsey Cemetery.
The body will remain at the Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill until one hour prior to services.
