Mrs. Flora Frances (Watkins) Grant was the daughter of the late Willie and Viola (Toles) Watkins. She was born in Strata, Alabama, on Friday, February 13, 1920.

She confessed Christ at an early age and was baptized at the Strata Church of Christ, Strata, Alabama. She later moved her membership to the Holt Street Church of Christ where she remained faithful in her attendance until her illness. Flora's good works at the church were always behind the scene. She co-operated with programs of the church, and she would always encourage others.

Flora was united in holy matrimony to Richard Albert Grant, Sr., on Wednesday, July 9, 1941

Both Flora and Richard were employed as Debit Managers with Atlanta Life Insurance Company until he retired after 44 years of service. She retired in 1985 with more than 50 years of service. Flora received many awards for her performance on the job with Atlanta Life Insurance Company. She loved serving her clients. She loved, too, caring for others through the yearly contributions she made to many organizations that served others.

Her beloved husband, Richard; one son Richard, Jr; and her parents Willie and Viola (Toles) Watkins, and sister Elnora Watkins preceded her in death.

She leaves to celebrate her life and cherish her memories three children, Mary Elizabeth "Ann" (James) Latimer, Detroit, MI; Georgia (Walter) Adams, Las Vegas, NV; and Jesse Grant, Montgomery, AL; one daughter-in-law Lue Bertha Grant, Montgomery, AL. two loving nieces, Kimberly Madison and Jenifer Madison, Detroit, MI; one brother-in-law Julius (Emma) Hargrove, Montgomery, AL; 16 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and a host of friends.Former Sister-In-Law Peggye Hargrove.
