Funeral services for Mr. George Edward Carpenter, 58, will be held Friday at 10 A.M. in the Chapel of Hardage and Sons Arlington Funeral Home, 5540 Arlington Rd. with the Rev. R. Grady Snowden, pastor of the Arlington Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery. Mr. Carpenter of 5216 River Forest Drive, Arlington, died early Wednesday morning following an illness of several months. He was born in Hampton, Va., and had lived in Jacksonville for 15 years. He was a member of the Arlington Baptist Church. Prior to his retirement, he had been a salesman a Greenlawn Cemetery. He formerly was employed by Daylight Groceries. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Vivian C. Carpenter, this city, a son, Calvin L. Carpenter, Detroit, Michigan, two sisters, Mrs. B.H. Topping, Hampton, Va., and Mrs. Susie Lewis, of Eastville, Va., a brother, Harry L. Carpenter, Norfolk, Va., and also two grandchildren.
