The two-year old son of Soren Nielsen died in the Richfield Hospital Thursday night after an operation. The child suffered badly for several days from pains which seemed to be the result of an injury on the head. The attending physicians suggested a thorough inspection and eventually operation at the Richfield Hospital and the child was taken there. Dr. Steiner and Dr. Clark diagnosed the case as meningitis and expressed the opinion that an operation would not help any. The parents, however, seeing the child suffering so terribly, decided to have the operation performed and an opening was made on the left side of the head to relieve the pressure. This gave great relief to the little patient but was of no other avail and the child died Thursday night.
