Neal was born to John and Bertha Short of Ponce de Leon on April 15, 1917, and passed away
February 7, 2009. He attended school at Clever School thru his junior year , transferring to Sparta in 1933 where he graduated in 1934.

He and Norma Maxine Allred were married January 20, 1945

He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and gr-grandfather.He enjoyed fishing on Table Rock Lake and was an avid sports fan in the Sparta and Ozark communities, watching his grandchildren and gr-grandchildren participate.

He was a longtime member of the Sparta Christian Church serving as Elder and Deacon for many years Neal was a 50 year member of the Sparta Masonic Lodge #296

Survived by his wife , Norma ,of 64 years and his son Phil, and daughter Brenda, 5 grandchildren and several gr and step gr grandchildren.


Funeral services were held at the Adams Funeral Home of Ozark, Missouri, with Pastor Tommy Bilyeu and Jim Groves.

Burial was in the Sparta I.O.O.F Cemetery , Sparta, Missouri
