OBITUARY-THE DORCHESTER STAR
JULY 2, 1891

B.W. Mason was born in Boone county Kentucky, September, 14, 1840. He emigrated to Christian county, Ills., with his parents in 1855, he was married to his now bereaved widow in 1863, which union has ever been a happy one. They have been blessed with five boys and one girl, all survive, except the fourth child which died before they left Illinois.
They moved to this country in the fall of 1873, where he has since resided until half past eleven o'clock, Sunday morning June 21, 1891, he past from labor to his reward; he professed religion about fourteen years ago, and attached himself to the Church of the United Brethren.
The deceased was well known in the county was one of the pioneers in Nebraska, and by diet of hard work and economy not to say some prevation he has accumulated a competency for his widow and minor children. he was an affectionate husband, a kind father and a good citizen and will be missed by his neighbors and especially by his bereaved family.
The funeral services were held at his late residence conducted by Rev. Bechtel, his pastor; a large prcession followed him to his last resting place in Dorchester cemetery.
