Gordon "Gordy" Quonce Jr., 55, of Eastwood, passed Thursday at home. Gordy was predeceased by his father, Gordon Quonce Sr., in 1978. He was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church and retired from the Syracuse Police Department in 2007 after 21 years of service; then he attended and graduated from Onondaga Community College in 2008. Gordy was currently working for Achieve Physical Therapy. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Christine McNeil Quonce; son, Gordon Quonce III; his daughters, Michelle Quonce (Kevin O'Brien) and Jacqueline Quonce; mother, Gloria Flynn Quonce; sister, Connie Boronczyk; and grandchildren, Christopher, Brendan and Emma O'Brien. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Goddard-Crandall-Shepardson Funeral Home and 10:30 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Church. Burial will be in White Chapel Memory Gardens. Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, 3111 James St. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Syracuse PBA.
