Dr. Walter Lee Sorrels died while on a hunting trip near Hatfield, Arkansas, on April 7, 1906. He was attempting to cross the Ouachita River at Mountain Fork and was drowned.
The body was recovered.
Dr. Sorrels was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Sorrels. His parents died while the lad was young, so his father's brother: Dr. James Warren Sorrels of Mansfield, Arkansas. He was educated in the Mansfield area.
He was buried in the Sorrels Cemetery in Abbott, Arkansas.
