BERRY, Rev. Philip H. Age 93, of Springboro and formerly of Dayton, died February 18, 2009, at Springboro Commons Retirement Center. He was born on May 1, 1915 to the late Harold and Frances Berry in Springfield, Ohio. He married the late Mildred Orrill in August 1935 and had three wonderful children. His love for his children and grandchildren was matchless. He and Mildred loved vacationing with the family or taking their grandchildren fishing or swimming. He was a huge baseball fan and could often be found watching a ball game on television or listening to one on the radio. Philip turned down an opportunity to play minor league ball for the Cleveland Indians, opting instead to go into the ministry. Until the day he passed into eternity, Rev. Berry's first love was serving the Lord and preaching the gospel. He was a minister for 76 years, serving as pastor, evangelist, and teacher. He pastored Eichelberger Pentecostal Church of God in Dayton for 25 years. He was also an assistant pastor at Fairview Victory Tabernacle in Dayton for seven years. He currently holds membership at Union Road Pentecostal Church in Trotwood, a church he helped establish with Laura Shank and Verle Vaughn. He also worked for the Harris Seybold company in Dayton for 36 years.

Philip was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Mildred Berry in 1986; Eva Mae (Carrier) Berry, in 1992, wife of 5 years; and eight brothers and sisters, Agnes, Viola, Mary, Betty, Tom, Virgil, Glenna and Bobby. He is survived by his three children, Phyllis and husband James Keller, of Port Charlotte, FL, Rev. Philip (Bud) and wife Helen Berry, of Holiday, FL, and Rev. Larry and wife Gail Berry, of Carlisle; five grandchildren, Terry and husband Leo Hanus, of Tipp City; Vickie and husband Gregory Rolls, of West Chester, Kent and wife Lisa Berry, of Williamstown, WV, Ryan and wife Mindy Berry, of Pitsburg, and Kevin Berry, of West Milton; 11 great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter.
