Sikeston - Dr. George L. Hale, a retired optometrist and founder of Hale Jewelry Store here, died today at the Missouri Delta Community Hospital here. He was 88 years old.
He was born Sept. 15, 1886, in Karber's Ridge, Ill. He married the former Miss Grace Womack.
He was both an optometrist and jeweler for many years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Surviving is his wife; son George Hale Jr.; daughter, Mrs. Margaret Armstrong; brothers, Jame L. Hale and Usie Hale; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held Saturday at Welch Funeral Home here. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery.
