Many relatives and friends in Grady, Mitchell and Terrell counties were saddened to learn of the death of Mr. William Dawson Taylor, 77, which occurred at 5 p.m. Dec 29th, at his home in the northern edge of this county, a few miles from Pelham, following an illness of about seven weeks.
Final rites were at Macedonia Baptist Church and cemetery in the northern part of this county, at 2 p.m., Dec 30th , with Rev. W. M. Davis and Forsyth Bros. Funeral Home in charge. Pallbearers were Cecil Bass, J. D. Brinkley, L. C. Owens, H. D. Pollock, Pete Porterman and Gus Richter.
Mr. Taylor was born in Terrell county, Ga., on Jan 27th, 1887, the son of the late John and Annie Howard (sic, should be Howell) Taylor, but came to what is now this county as a young man and spent most of his life here, engaged as a farmer. He was an active member of Macedonia Church for many years and was prominently identified with community affairs.
On July 4th, 1891, in what was then Decatur, now Grady county, he married the former Miss Ivah Charity Wilder, who preceded him in death June 5th, 1942.
Immediate survivors include three sons: J. L., W. E., and H. G. Taylor, all of this county; two daughters: Mrs. Lula (should be Lela) Belle Richter, Mitchell county, and Mrs. Leta N. Draughton, (sic, should be Draughon) this county; a brother Gordon Taylor, Moultrie; four sisters; Mrs. Sallie Johnson, Miami, Mrs. Martha Wilkerson, Thomas county, and Mrs. Evie Wilder and Mrs. Susie Miller, this county; and a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Son of Rev. John Henry Taylor and Nancy "Nannie" Ann Howell Taylor. Husband of Mary Ivah Wilder Taylor. Father of Lela Belle, Leta Nevada, Jonah Lee, Girard Erd and Harry Grady Taylor.
