Mr. Andrews, a retired conductor for the GMO Railroad, died Friday night at Decatur County Hospital in Parsons after a short illness.
He was born in Gibson County but lived in Jackson for the past 33 years.
Mr. Andrews held membership at Woodland Baptist Church, Jackson Masonic Lodge No. 45 and BPOE Elks.
He leaves his widow, Mrs. Mary Lou Cole Andrews; a son, Major Joe Andrews of Annapoli AFB, MD; a daughter, Mrs. Jimmy B. Wood of Aberdeen, MS; two brothers, R.L. Andrews of North Little Rock, AR and Frank Andrews of Union City; also three grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be George Cason, Raleigh Fisher, Hunt Maddox, Frank Oller, Ed Crawford and Guy Taylor.
The family has asked that memorials be sent to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital in Memphis, TN.
