War Veteran Dies Friday
Audie J. Collier, age 40 years, died at the family home 2 1/2 miles west of Sayre Friday night, September 30, 1932 after a lingering illness which probably was contracted while in the army. He was a World War veteran.
He leaves to mourn his death, his wife and two children, four brothers, George Lee Collier of Mangum, Hardy Collier of Altus, Oscar Collier of Russell, Okla., and Ervin Collier of Mangum, and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Roper of Mangum and Mrs. Trudy Boyett of Mount Dora, New Mexico, and his mother, Mrs. Mary D. Collier.
The funeral services were held at the Lone Oak church Sunday, October 2, at 2:30 p.m. with the Medford brothers of Carter officiating. Burial was in the Lone Oak Cemetery with Littrell Johnson in charge.
