Pauline was the eldest daughter of Thomas "Tommy" Taylor and Bennie Mae Hill Noland of Upper Crabtree. She married Cassius McCracken Rogers, a neighbor, in Clayton, GA on June 20, 1940. Pauline was a thrifty, hard working daughter, wife, and mother. Poor health and illness did not keep her down for long--she was a fighter. Her only child, Terry William, was born in 1941.
Pauline was a leader in the community and in her church. She was a devout Christian who expected the best of herself and of others.
Pauline died of cancer at home with her family by her bedside, right where she wanted to be when she left to meet her Saviour and Lord.Her obituary reads:

Pauline Noland Rogers, 67, of Route 1, Upper Crabtree, Clyde, died Monday at her residence. A lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was a daughter of Thomas T. and Bennie Mae Hill Noland. She was member of Mount Zion United Methodist Church.

Surviving are her husband, Cassius McCracken Rogers; a son, Terry W. Rogers of Upper Crabtree; and three sisters, Lucille Sutton, Lottie Hall, and Thomasine Howell, all of Upper Crabtree.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Wells Funeral Home, Waynesville. The Rev. George M. Schreyer will officiate. Burial will be in Upper Crabtree Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Upper Crabtree Cemetery Fund or Mount Zion United Methodist Church.
