She had been confined to her room for several months previous to her death. Mrs. Bloxton had been a constant member of the Baptist Church ever since her girlhood and was the daughter of Rev. George Portwood, who died soon after the close of the War.
She is survived by four sons and two daughters as follows:
Rev. F.E. Bloxton of the Wilmington Conference, M.E. Church North; Walter A. Bloxton, Roanoke, VA; J. W. Bloxton, Greensboro, NC; Dr. Benjamin Bloxton, Richmond, VA; Mrs. Cora DeShazo, Leaksville, NC; Miss Etta Bloxton, Covington, VA; and three sisters, Mrs. Elvira F. Dawson; Mrs. M. A. Jennings; and Mrs. L. V. Woodson.
The burial services took place at Reedy Spring Church on Wednesday evening, June 12th at two o'clock.
The pallbearers were: Dr. D. Mott Robertson; A. H. Thompson; George W. Cheatham; W. B. Marshall; J. H. Morris and Hubbard Cheatham.
