E. Treacy Winburn
September 17, 1915-August 31, 2004

E. Treacy "Pat" Winburn, 88, formerly of Brunswick, GA.., died Tuesday, August 31, 2004, at his current residence in Gilbert, AZ.
A native of a Patrick, SC., he had been a resident of Glynn County for 60 years. He attended college at the University of South Carolina, was initiated in the Plummers and Steamfitters Local No. 177 in Brunswick, GA, on May 9, 1943, and was a life time member with 61 years of service. He was elected as President of the Local Union No. 177 in January 1947, and was Business Manager in October 1947, and served in that position until September 1966. He started the Apprenticeship Program for the Plummers, Pipefitters and Steamfitters of Local No. 177, going on to Perdue University where he was appointed to serve as the Special Representative at the United Association's Headquarters in Washington, D.C.. In Janiary 1967, and retired on March 31, 1982. Upon retiring, he returned to Brunswick to live full time where he devoted himself to home, family, friends, community and his church.
Mr. Windburn was active in St. Francis Xavier Parish, assisted with the Brunswick Pilot Club Life Line program, served on the Glynn County Jury Commission for eight years and held a private pilot's license. He enjoyed flying, gardening, crafts and traveling.
His wife, Blackie and granddaughter, Treacy Leigh Smith preceded Mr. Winburn in death.
He is survived by his daughter, Wendy Gould, of Gilbert, AZ; his son David Winburn of Mobile, AL; a brother C. S. Winburn of Patrick, SC; a sister Carolyn Winburn (Davis) (Goffigon) of Jacksonville, FL; four grandchildren: four great grandsons: and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial Mass will be held at 11 a. m., on Saturday, September 11, 2004, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with Father Wilfrid Logsdon and Father Cletus Pifher officiating.
The family will welcome visitors at the church following the Mass.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the St. Francis Xavier Building Fund or Banner Hospice, 1325 N. Fiesta Blvd., Suite 1, Gilbert, AZ 85233.
