Mr. Camp was born Dec. 25, 1891 in Sherman County, Nebraska. He attended schools in that state and started working on a farm at the age of 10. He continued farming, coming to Oregon in 1941 where they steeled at Wapato Lake where he worked for Blaine Brown. He also worked for one year in the Green Thumb program for the State Highway Department. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Forest Grove.
He married Myrtle True on March 17, 1915 at Loup City, Neb. She survives at the Gaston home as do a son, Eldrid W. Camp of San Diego; daughters, Mrs. Lee A (Aldena) Welty of Kearney, Neb., Alta Mae Fitts of Chester, Calif.; and Mrs. Virgil (Norma V.) Cedergreen of Forest Grove; 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Three brothers, four sisters and one great-grandchild predeceased him.
