Mary Vonice Crews, 61, died Tuesday morning (01-29-02) at her residence after an extended illness. She was born in Pierce County, daughter of the late Tracy Eli Smith and Mary Lucille Beverly Smith Crawford. She had lived most of her life in Ware County and retired from the R & B manufacturing and was a member of the Ruskin Church. She was
preceded in death by her Step-Father Charlie Robert "Tobe" Crawford and a sister Nettie Virue Rewis.
She is survived by her husband Roger D. Crews of Waycross; three daughters Nancy Herndon and her husband James, Becky Barber and her husband Donnie and Patty Johnson and her husband Randy all of Waycross; one step-daughters Rhonda Martin of Danielsville, Ga.; one brother Tracy "Buddy" Eli Smith, Jr. of Waycross; two sisters Charlene Griffin and her husband Johnny of Hoboken, Ga. and Jessolene Morgan and her husband Johnny of Waycross; Eighteen Grandchildren, Thirteen Great Grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon (01-31-02) at two o'clock in the chapel of the Miles-Odum Funeral Home. Burial will be in High Bluff Cemetery. She will be taken to her residence 885 Rabon Street at four o'clock Wednesday afternoon for visitation.
