Charles Jesse Bentley is my Grandfather on my fathers side. He was born to Cornelius Jesse Bentley & Abigail (Burgan) Bentley. He married Mammie Irene (Owens) Bentley. To this marriage 11 children where born Unmamed Bentley, George Milton Bentley, Cornilus Preston Bentley (called Neal), Warren David Bentley, Elias Richard Bentley (called Eli my father), Walter Henry Bentley, Virgil H. Bentley, William Jesse Bentley, Charles Edward Bentley, Bonnie Regene (Bentley) Rodgers, Gerard, & Edgar Bentley. They lived in the Yakima area for years. He lived in Eugene Oregon after the death of his wife with his daughter where he was a loger. He lost both of his legs to blood clots. Went to stay with his son William Jesse Bentley in Lakewood Calif until he died Nov. 11, 1961 at 5:00 a.m. at the age of 79 yrs. His body was brought to Yakima where he is buried with his wife Mary Irene (Owens) Bentley & his son Eli Bentley at Tahoma Cemetery Yakima, Washington Thursday Nov. 16, 1961 at 9:30 a.m. in Shaw & Son's Chapel.
