JoAnn T. "Joannie" Foley, 76, died Tuesday, February 17, 2009 at Rochester Methodist Hospital.
JoAnn was born October 15, 1932 to Bertrand C. and Adeline (Parr) Majerus in St. Paul, MN. She graduated from Goodhue High School, Goodhue, MN. She worked for the Fillmore County Court House, Treasurer's office for several years. She married James Gossman on May 12, 1951 in Goodhue, MN; and they were later divorced. Joannie moved to Rochester, MN and she worked at City Hall. She married Jack Foley and they were later divorced. She worked for McGladrey and Pullin, LLP for thirty-five years and retired in December 2002. She was a co-founder of Paws and Claws; and she enjoyed shopping and travel.
Joannie is survived by her special friend Lester Johnson, Rochester, MN; one daughter Barbara (Billy) Dodson, Groesbeck, TX; five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; also three sisters; Mary Louise (Donald) Ryan, Goodhue, MN, AlJean (Bob) Lawrence, Burnsville, MN, and Marsha (Jerry Orr) Gumbusky, Rochester, MN. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 21, 2009 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes' Chapel. Visitation will be Friday, February 20, 2009 from 4-8 p.m. at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home, Rochester, MN and one hour before the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date in St. Columbkills Cemetery, Goodhue, MN. Memorials are suggested to Paws and Claws or Eagles Cancer Telethon.
