Anton G. "Bub" Jacobs, 94, a resident of ASTA Care Center, Pontiac, formerly of Graymont, died at 9:11 p.m. Saturday (Dec. 8, 2001) at OSF Saint James Hospital, Pontiac.

He was born Dec. 13, 1907, in Graymont, the son of Anton G. and Maggie G. Saathoff Jacobs. He married Mildred Lucille Finnestad on Sept. 20, 1928, in Springfield. She died April 15, 1993.

Survivors include three sons, Anton G. (Nancy) Jacobs, Fort Worth, Texas; Robert (Pat) Jacobs, Pontiac; and Gerald (Jean) Jacobs, Chandler, Ariz.; one brother, Russell (Mary) Jacobs, Streator, seven grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

One son and four sisters preceded him in death.

Mr Jacobs was educated in rural schools. He farmed his entire life in Graymont on the farm bought by his grandfather in 1881. He was born on the farm and lived there until 1994 when he moved to ASTA Care Center. He was a member of the Pontiac Masonic Lodge where he served as past master and was a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge and the Eastern Star, where he served as past patron.
