Funeral services were held Monday, Aug 10 for Elder Kent V. Hyde son of Glen and Gayle Hyde of Thayne.
Elder Hyde was serving in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Phoenix, AZ Mission at the time of his death on Wednesday, Aug.5.
According to an accident report filed with the Arizona Highway Patrol, Elder Hyde was in Pine, AZ walking with tow other individuals when he was "struck by a vehicle that had left the state highway for unknown reasons." He was transferred to the hospital in Payson, AZ where he was pronounced dead. The two individuals accompanying Hyde were uninjured according to the report.

Kent Virl Hyde was born July 2, 1970 in Bountiful, UT. He lived in West Jordan, UT until he was three years of age when he moved with his parents and brothers to Auburn.
He started Kindergarten in Afton and finished at Fort Hall Indian Reservation due to another move with his parents. He moved back to Thayne and started first grade at Holdaway Elementary. He attended junior high and high school in Afton graduating in 1988.
He enjoyed reading good books and was especially interested in history. He loved to ski, ride his mountain bike and his motorcycle. He loved the outdoors, to hunt and fish. He always had some kind of pet.
He entered the MTC on Nov 7, 1990 and was serving in the Arizona Phoenix Mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at the time of his death.
He will be remembered for his loving service and kindness to others. He was kind and had a sense of humor that many will remember.
He is survived by his parents Glen and Gayle Hyde; brother Gary and sister Cally of Thayne, brother Mikal of Clinton, TN, two nephews; grandparents Virl and Shirley Hebdon and Leona Hyde and great grandmother Jen Gardner.
