Leo was born in Palestine on Dec. 13, 1921, to Gent and Lula Hardy. After attending school in Slocum, he enrolled in the service, where he served in the Army Air Force in the office of the chief of staff XIX tactical air command in England, France, Luxenburg and Germany, and was given the Bronze Star.
Leo married Thelma Jean Peacock on March 2, 1947. They had two children, Stephen Dale Hardy and Suanne Gipson, and moved to Fort Worth in August 1954. He worked for General Printings, a division of Sun Chemical Corp. Retiring after 30 years, he stayed on as a consultant for 10 more years. He also served as president of Craftman Printing Club of Fort Worth and Table Host for the 9th district printing craft division.
Leo served as a deacon, treasurer and trustee for Meadowbrook Baptist Church and at the time of death was a member of East Meadows Baptist Church.
Leo was preceded in death by a son, Stephen Dale; his mother and father; two brothers; and two sisters.
Survivors: Wife, Thelma; daughter, Suanne and her husband, Danny Mark Gipson; grandchildren, Stacy, Stephen, Christopher and Matthew; and great-grandchild, Kyler.
