Word has been received here of the death of Sylvester Beaman, 97, a former resident of the Uniontown neighborhood who died suddenly Wednesday at the home of a daughter at Burden, KS.
The deceased, a son of Mr. and Mrs. George Beaman, was born Feb. 4, 1860, at Garnett. He was married to Ada Wolf, Dec. 24, 1882, at Uniontown. He retired from the farm in 1940 and moved to Bronson. Three years ago he moved to Burden to make his home with a daughter Mrs. Pearl Stanley.
Surviving are one son, and four daughters, Roy Beaman, Route 2, Fort Scott; Mrs. Maude Hoggatt, Wichita; Mrs. Pearl Stanley, Burden; Mrs. Leola Smith, Wichita; Mrs. Lena Mitchel. There are ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Also surviving are two brothers, Edwin Beaman, Bronson, Joe Beaman, Parsons, and four sisters, Mrs. (Flora) Berkey, Kiowa, Kans; Mrs. Dora Rhoton, Amarillo, Tex.; Mrs. Luther (Alta) Watson, Yellow Jacket, Colo; Mrs. Nettie Horgan, Calif
