Mr. Tommy Dearl McCormick, age 63, of Freeport, FL. passed away February 16, 2009 at Ft. Walton Medical Center. He was born in DeFuniak Springs on March 25, 1945 to Stanley and Daisy Lou Hardy McCormick. Tommy was a descendant of South Walton County pioneers and lived all of his life in Freeport. Tommy was Methodist by faith and retired as a National Transient Boilermaker with Chicago Bridge and Iron Company. He was also co-owner of a local business in South Walton. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, gardening, growing plants and flowers, and woodworking. Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Daisy Lou McCormick; two brothers William Henry McCormick and Charles Emmitt McCormick; an infant sister Lovie, and an infant son Michael; father-in-law David Weidenhaft; sister-in-law Carol McCormick; brothers-in-laws Willis Wilder and Ray Weidenhaft; one nephew Benjamin McCormick. Tommy is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Norma Jean Weidenhaft McCormick; two sons, Tommy Sean McCormick (Bridget) and Ryan Ashley McCormick (Nikki); one brother James Earl ; two sisters Carol Wilder and Maxine McComb. Six grandchildren; mother-in-law Wilda Weidenhaft, sister-in-law Patricia Holloway (Arthur), Edward Weidenhaft (Debbie), John Weidenhaft (Marcia), Steve Weidenhaft (Frances). He is also survived by his special children: Amber, Seth, Aaron, Jeremy, Jimmy, Mark, Erica, Carol Lee, Evelyn, Jennifer, and Harl; special friends, Tom Courter and Earl Fannin; and numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved very much.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, February 20, 2009 at Black Creek Cemetery.
