Carl "C.O." Garrison was the youngest son of William O and Beall Garrison, and one of only three children in that family who survived into adulthood. He married Nina Perle Robinson of Iowa in Apache County, Arizona in September of 1917.

C.O. worked for the Southern Pacific Railroad for 44 years, and was relocated several times until he and Nina settled in Bakersfield, California. When he retired on December 31, 1961, he was assistant signal supervisor and was one of four railroad men honored with a top safety award.

Carl married Merle Rogers in 1967; they divorced January 1971 in Kern County, California.

Carl married his third wife, Evelyn Vaughn Davenport around September 1971 in Tucson, Arizona. They were living in Bakersfield, California when Carl died in 1979.

GARRISON, CARL O. - Born in Dallas Texas, Dec. 22, 1896, passed away Oct. 16 in Bakersfield Calif., and had resided in Bakersfield for 44 years. A member of Wolrd War I Veterans, Barracks #432 as past commander and was District Commander of District 4. He served in World War II for two years in India. A member of Caladonia Lodge #486, F. & A.M. and Scottish Rite. He was past president of retired and Veterans Railway Employees. Survived by wife, Evelyn; one sister, Gwen Enas of Malakoss, Texas; step daughter, Virginia Potts of Tuscon, Arizona. Services to be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park at 3 p.m., Fri., Oct. 19. Pallbearers Elmer Fowler, Levi Franklin, Dave Halle, William Kalbaugh, Raymond Waller, and Ted Oaks.
