Mary Pope Hopkins Davis was a true southern lady, a loving wife, and a devoted mother. She enjoyed making quilts from pieces of scrap cloth, knitting socks, and reading. She would misplace her glasses and find them resting on the top of head where she had pushed.

She was the daughter of John Allen Hopkins and Peninah Hay, who could be buried in this old cemetery too.
